Admission Requirements

• Accomplish Admission Forms and pass the Interview and Essay Examination
• Transcript of Academic Records stating that applicant is a Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree holder whichever is applicable
• Certificate of Employment indicating at least 3 years work experience.

The Graduate Program

PHILOSOPHY

The UPHSD Graduate School believes that critical thinking in diverse and multicultural experiences are valuable ingredients to academic freedom which can be nurtured by a continuing interchange among students, faculty and peers who employ collaborative roles for further discovery, refinement and application of knowledge in the communities they serve in general and the Filipino people in particular.

VISION

The UPHSD Graduate School is an interdisciplinary institute that provides leadership in transforming and developing change agents and managers of resources through peer-exchange and executive mentoring in a diverse and highly competitive knowledge-based environment.

  • To enhance the quality of learning across all programs in order to safeguard the value of academic integrity and excellence;
  • To assist the University in building a world-class educational system through faculty, staff and alumni programs;
  • To support graduate students from recruitment, registration, retention to graduation;

Faculty Members

ANGELA P. SARILE holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Education, Language Teaching from theUniversity of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City. In addition to this academicpreparation, Dr. Sarile had also specialized in Speech Communication, Dramaand Fine Arts all in UP, Diliman. She teaches Issues and Problems in PhilippineEducational system and Human Relations in Schools.
LILIAN DE LEON-PEÑA teaches Spanish in the Ph.D. Progam. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree inEducational Management . Her exposure in Local Governance has providedher the skill to empathize with students from the government sectors, Sheis also a faculty of our Continuing Professional Development Program for localgovernment officials.
LYDIA P. BERONCAL is a faculty of the SPED program and teaches Curriculum Development for Childrenwith Special Needs. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Educationmajor in Guidance Psychology from De la Salle, Manila. Dr Beroncal’s entry tothe SPED program had reinforced our peer-teaching methodologies.
IRINEO F. MARTINEZ, JR. is an academic, a lawyer, a community organizer and a consultant for OD(organization development). He specializes in change management in both thepublic and the government sectors. With a Ph.D. degree in Management andPolitical Economy, Atty. Martinez rejoined the University as Dean and Faculty ofthe Graduate School. He was Chief Political Affairs Officer of Senator FerdinandR. Marcos, Jr.
ALBERTO P. MENDOZA brings 38 years of full academic practice in both the private and public sectors.His passion for teaching has given him the distinction of excellence in Researchand Statistics with Computer Applications among students. Dr. Mendozaholds a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Management and carriesan extensive experience in administration obtained from the Department ofEducation. He had been very instrumental in producing high caliber graduatestudents who are now experts in their own fields of study.
