Aviation

At the School of Aviation, we teach the science, the practice, and the business of aviation and avionics. We prepare students to become qualified airmen to assume leading roles particularly in the areas of aircraft research, development, manufacturing, maintenance, operation, and aviation education through comprehensive training, modern facilities, and highly qualified faculty.

Our training courses comply with all the requirements laid down by the Air Transportation Office of the Philippines, International Engineering and Technological Standards Regulations in Aviation, and Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines.

Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP)

The Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) is in accordance with the provisions of Republic Act Numbers 7722 and 10647, Executive Order 330 and Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Memorandum Order 29, series of 2021.

It aims to grant equivalency credits and/or appropriate academic degrees to qualified individuals who have acquired relevant body of work and life experiences or high level, formal learning, non-formal education/learning and informal education.

  • Formal learning refers to the hierarchically structured and chronologically graded learning organized and provided by the formal school system and for which certification is required in order for the learner to progress through the grades or move to higher levels.
  • Informal education refers to non-structured and non-directed learning obtained from experiences at home, place of work, community, civil society, the church, mass media and other incidental sources.
  • Non-formal education refers to any structured short-term learning program usually for supplementing basic education and training and offered for learning very specific concepts or skills.
  • Non-formal learning is intentional and gained by the individual through
    participation in organized workplace-based training, non-credit courses and workshops the completion of which does not lead to receiving formal credit

Philosophy

Following the provisions of Republic Act Numbers 7722 and 10647, Executive Order 330 and Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Memorandum Order 28, series of 2013, UPHSD ETEEAP is leadership and management of equivalency and accreditation across programs and institutions. It is a system of identifying, assessing and assigning equivalent rank of college-level learning for prior learning obtained from formal, non-formal and informal training and relevant work experiences and completion of competency enrichment and other program requirements toward the final granting of an appropriate undergraduate academic degree.

Mission

To realize its vision UPHSD ETEEAP commits itself to the quality, promotion and expansion of the system of academic equivalency and accreditation of knowledge and expertise of professionals and practitioners while upholding the core values and academic quality standards of the University.

  • A high school graduate or completer of PEPT/ALS A & E with result stating “qualified to enter first year college”
  • An associate degree graduate, vocational degree graduate, or undergraduate
  • A Filipino citizen at least twenty-three (23) years old as supported by Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) authenticated birth certificate
  • For an employed applicant
    • He/she should have an aggregate of at least five (5) years in the industry related to the academic degree program or discipline where equivalency of learning is sought
  • For unemployed applicant but with proven competency/ies:
    • Submit a notarized service record or other corroborative documents such as Income Tax Return (ITR), SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG records and in the absence of such proofs, pass the competency assessment administered as a prequalifying requirement of the deputized higher education institution

Maritime Education

The University of Perpetual Help System currently offers, among its many accredited programs, three maritime programs, namely Marine Transportation, Marine Engineering, and Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, which are available in two accessible campuses – one in Las Piñas City and the other in Biñan, Laguna.  Both campuses are equipped with the state of the art instructional facilities such as the Kongsberg Full-Mission Bridge and Engine Room Simulators and other technical laboratories.  Dedicated UPH maritime professionals are always ready to mold students to the best of their abilities while instilling in them the core values of professionalism, teamwork and excellence which are essential to the students’ pursuit of a dignified maritime profession.  Recently, Senior High School with Pre-Baccalaureate Maritime Specialization has likewise been introduced into the system.

Technical Vocational Programs

The Vocational Technology Department offers an exciting mix of practical experiential learning and classroom instructions in our modular courses and find which one is best for you. All our courses comply with TESDA’s training regulations and cover the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed in Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET). The modules focus on the basic, common, and core competencies in accordance with industry standards. The student will obtain a National Certificate Level II (NC-2) upon completion of each course.

The Vocational Technology Department has TESDA accredited instructors who are holders of National Certificate Level II (NC-2), Assessment Methodology – Training Methodology (AM-TM) Certificate, Assessors Qualification – Trainers Qualification (AQ-TQ) Certificate, National TVET Trainers Certificate (NTTC), and Assessors Certificate.
